American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX! This position will work in a hybrid setting (in office 2 to 3 days a week).

Responsibilities

This position performs a variety of financial and analytical duties for assigned regions and National Business units, with an emphasis on budgeting, projections and monthly reporting. The position works heavily in excel, creating schedules, pivot tables and templates, and working with the general ledger system for uploads/downloads.  This position will help prepare reports for senior leadership and serve as a liaison between the Financial Planning and Analysis team and budget managers.

Develop, prepare and maintain regular reports using financial accounting system (Essbase) for assigned customers. Create ad hoc reports and research to support variance analysisAct as a consultant and liaison to assigned budget managers to improve financial reporting practices and procedures both within and outside of the Finance Department Respond to and resolve concerns or issues accurately and effectively to provide advanced customer service to internal and external customersPrepare portions of the National Center budgets/projections with the support of the Supervisor. Duties include: preparation of annual budget/projection instructions and templates, facilitation of training, and uploading of budgets/projections and revisions to financial reporting systemAnalyze and report on budget/projection changes and requests. Prepare supporting schedules and documents to be used throughout the processComplete assigned projects or analyses as needed. Including preparing and providing any financial documents/report for internal and external audits as requested

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, preference toward accounting degreeMinimum of three (3) years of accounting, financial reporting and budgeting experienceExtremely proficient in Microsoft Excel (ie, pivot tables, if/then statements, vlook up, etc.)Proficient knowledge of the principles and practices of budgeting, projecting, month-end close and variance analysisAbility to analyze financial data and interpret into narrative formGeneral business knowledge and experience in applying general principles and practices of accounting to analyze data and document resultsAbility to work against deadlines to provide deliverablesProficient skills in use of automated accounting packagesExcellent in oral and written communication and ability to communicate with all levels of American Heart Association staff

 

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

 

CPA or CPA candidate a plusProficient skills in use of Essbase, Oracle or Hyperion a plus
