What will I be doing in this role?
The Financial Analyst will play an integral role in the month-end general ledger closing process and be responsible for preparing general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries. This individual will perform budget to actual variance analyses, monthly, for their assigned accounts prior to scheduled meetings with General Accounting Management. The Financial Analyst will also help address inquiries and requests received by the General Accounting Department from within and outside of the organization.
Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
Play a key role in the month-end close process.Prepare both standard and non-standard journal entries to record transactions impacting the Medical Center and its affiliates.Prepare general ledger account reconciliations including cash and fixed assets accounts, monthly.Investigate budget to actual account balance fluctuations, monthly.Communicate with other departments to investigate and resolve accounting issues and inquiries.Generates and creates financial reports on a regular cadence and ad-hoc basis.Analyzes and interprets data, identifies trends, and provides recommendations based on findings.Assembles/summarizes data into presentations and may present findings to management.Routinely communicates with supervisors relating to issues and deliverables.Coordinates with other members of finance team and/or management to review financial information and forecasts.Applies federal and state regulatory and licensing requirements, as well as organizational by-laws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures to all assigned projects.Establishes effective working relationships with cross-functional team(s).Responds timely, effectively, and appropriately to deliverables.Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field is required.
One (1) year of financial analysis, financial auditing, accounting, or other relevant experience in a finance related department is required.
Experience/Skills we are seeking:
Word processing, spreadsheets, presentation development, Access database.Detail oriented and be able to prepare various work products from the perspective of a reviewer.Strong computer skills, primarily in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Flexible and possess the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs &/or priorities.Req ID : 7105
