Financial Analyst
Description Job Summary: Our client, a dynamic and growing company, is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to provide support for strategic decision-making and financial planning. This contract role will focus on analyzing business trends, identifying opportunities for financial improvement, and working closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, strategic planning, and business performance evaluation. Key Responsibilities: Business Performance Analysis: + Analyze financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess company performance and provide insights into business trends. + Work with department heads to evaluate operational efficiency and financial performance across various business units. + Provide recommendations based on data analysis to improve profitability and optimize resource allocation. Strategic Financial Planning: + Assist in the development of long-term financial strategies by forecasting revenue, expenses, and capital requirements. + Conduct financial modeling to support business growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and expansion plans. + Support leadership in making data-driven strategic decisions related to cost management, pricing, and investment strategies. Forecasting & Budgeting: + Create and update financial models to project business performance, incorporating both external market conditions and internal performance data. + Assist with the preparation of detailed financial forecasts, including revenue and expenditure projections. + Coordinate with various departments to ensure alignment between budgeted and actual financial results. Data-driven Insights & Reporting: + Develop reports that provide actionable insights to senior leadership on key financial and operational metrics. + Provide reports on financial health, including margin analysis, operating costs, and capital expenditures. + Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, offering recommendations for improving financial performance. Ad-hoc Financial Analysis: + Perform ad-hoc financial analyses for special projects, including evaluating new business opportunities, product launches, and operational changes. + Assist with sensitivity analysis to assess the financial impact of different business scenarios. Collaboration & Cross-functional Support: + Work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and product teams to assess financial implications of business decisions. + Help integrate financial insights into day-to-day operations, ensuring that financial goals are consistently met. Requirements Qualifications: + 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, or business analysis. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. + Advanced proficiency in Excel (including financial modeling) and experience with financial software (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, or similar). + Experience in providing strategic financial insights to support executive-level decision-making. + Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. + Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred.
