As a Financial Analyst, you will support the execution of financial services and ensure effective and transparent utilization of financial resources. Financial analysts must obtain and compile information regarding the costs incurred in corporate financial statements. They will communicate with various lead members of our HQ IT team, and senior Financial leaders. Financial Analysts must also monitor the financial performance of departments and provide analysis for managers concerning potential variances.
HOW A FINANCIAL ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Performs financial analysis and reporting in order to monitor finances associated with business operations
● Develop, maintain Excel financial models/applications to automate and streamline business processes and perform financial analysis
●Track monthly accruals and ensure proper reconciliation for processing with accounts payable
●Have a strong foundation in forecasting and budgeting to help track estimated costs at completion
●Identifying/Tracing financial discrepancies and coordinating corrective action
●Perform monthly forecasting, account reconciliations
●Strong communication and presentation skills to interact with Department owners
●Preparing documentation to support the budgetary process in accordance with government contracting principles
●Support the coordination of procurements and payments with subcontractors and vendors. Along with an ability to manage the costing of a large volume of orders throughout its duration
●Tracking and managing funding activities of obligations and expenditures in partnership with AP and Supply Chain
●Report, analyze, and interpret financial and operating information for management to make recommendations as a financial analysist for projects
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (Business/Finance/Accounting is preferred)
● Required Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience
● Required Technical Skills: proficient in MS products, particularly Excel, familiarity with Oracle reporting suite or similar (Costpoint/SAP/Cognos).
● Required Skills and Abilities: communication, problem solving, presentation, analysis, customer service
● Preferred Skills: previous finance, government contracts and related industry experience preferred; Familiarity with PowerBI and Tableau a plus
● Location: On company site hybrid Falls Church, VA (Minimum of 2 days per week in-office)
