Financial Analyst
Position Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and providing insights and recommendations within Ormat’s growing Energy Storage segment to help the organization make informed business decisions. This is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days in our downtown Philadelphia office.
Essential Functions
Conduct financial analysis and generate insightful reports regarding our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) fleet to assist in organizational needs. Prepare and present Ormat Storage business segment and project level financial forecasts, budgets, and financial models to support strategic planning for various projects. Analyze and interpret financial and power market data, identifying trends, and pinpointing areas of concern for further evaluation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and ensure accuracy and completeness. Monitor and analyze financial and operational performance against established KPIs for project plans. Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Other Responsibilities
Assists with settlements, cash flow management & accounting. Assists with financial audits. Collaborates on software development & project management. Assists Storage Origination team in contract pricing, customer RFPs, and proposal development. Complete and support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
BA/BS Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of experience and education. Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Desire to learn about wholesale power markets, new energy storage technology, and energy industry trends. Must have advanced MS Office skills, Google tools and Visual Basic. Experience with financial modeling. Solid analytical skills, problem solving and critical thinking. Strong project organizational skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties. Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s auto insurance carrier. Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner. Must have the ability to travel to other locations. Ability to design and implement solutions to real business problems with creativity and objectivity. Ability to work with operations and engineering personnel in a team environment. Willingness and desire to learn new technologies. Highly attentive to detail. Commitment to bettering Ormat’s tools and processes. Must be able to read and follow written procedures.RECOMMENDED
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 2 year's of proven experience working in a similar position with relevant experience. Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial systems. Proficient in financial analysis techniques and tools, such as financial modeling and forecasting. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in an office environment. Must have the ability to lift up to 25lbs without assistance. Job requires sitting and or standing for long periods of time. Ability to work at a computer and computer monitor and use repetitive motion for long periods of time.
