Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

As a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you will play an integral role in supporting the Bluestem mission and driving financial results. By ensuring the integrity of our financials, providing insights through analysis and reporting, and using your unique expertise to provide grounded recommendations, you will have the opportunity to influence and enable the business to take action.

This role will lead general & administrative expense planning across multiple functions for the Northstar and Corporate Portfolios. You’ll collaborate with and provide ongoing support for senior leaders within Finance, Legal, HR and other departments, and will be a go-to resource for compiling and socializing financial results. Key responsibilities include budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and variance analysis, month-end close journal entries, as well as various other activities.

This role is based out of our Eden Prairie, MN head office within our hybrid environment that has team members come into the office 3 days a week.   

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Budgeting and Forecasting

Prepare detailed financial models in alignment with key business drivers Facilitate management’s understanding of financials, including risks and opportunities Review and challenge key assumptions, drivers, and metrics used to develop forecasts and plans

Reporting

Compile monthly variance analysis and reporting used by Bluestem senior leadership Ensure accuracy of financial results, including timely and accurate coding of invoices Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries Prepare consolidated monthly expense reporting package for the Northstar Portfolio general and administrative expenses

Management Consultation

Financial analysis to support key business decisions Identify and implement process improvements Support and drive change Other duties or responsibilities as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or other applicable majors 2+ years of finance, accounting, business analytics or planning experience with progressive responsibility Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills within Microsoft Excel Deep knowledge of related Microsoft Office products

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of Hyperion, Oracle, Essbase and SQL Innovative self-starter with a history of building relationships and delivering results Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the ability to investigate complex data to draw conclusions and develop actionable insights Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills Proven ability to build strong relationships across teams and locations Curiosity, drive, and aptitude to find creative solutions Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, transforming environment Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, manage projects, and meet challenging deadlines

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, working with a computer and other work-related equipment up to 9 hours per day. Additionally, tasks may include occasional lifting of documents up to 10 pounds. When working in the office, home and/or other locations there will be occasional bending, twisting, reaching and moving. The annualized base salary range for this role is currently $60,000-$75,000.
