Financial Analyst I

Responsibilities What You'll Do: Supports the Financial Planning and Analysis function including budgets, forecasting, reporting, analytics, accounting month end close & automation. Key Responsibilities: Use information to assemble extensive financial databases Automate financial reporting activities. Compile financial reports using calculations, data, and other information. Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance of programs. Does the month end close entries and reports the variance analysis on income statements and balance sheet. Develops and maintains project EAC forecast and responsible for variance analysis research and commentary. Updates the forecasts into the forecasting system. Work closely with team members to consolidate budget and forecast financial performance. Identify and research key variances. Work with and secure highly sensitive and confidential financial data and information. Continuously update skill set, expertise, and technical knowledge by attending the required workshops and courses. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Bachelor's degree Experience: 4+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting. Knowledge in the use of financial software systems. Understanding of database maintenance and design. Understand database structures and data mining. Knowledge of statistical analysis. Ability to perform research and compile reports. Ability to plan and track budgets. Exhibit computational skills. Experience forecasting and analyzing data. Knowledge of GAAP, Cost Accounting Standard and Federal Acquisition Regulations. Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required Skills and Technology Used Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: Possesses critical thinking skills to synthesize scenarios and diverse perspectives to problem solving. Demonstrated statistical and quantitative skills. Able to quickly analyze and integrate information from relevant and sometimes disparate sources. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Business/Financial Acumen: Ability to multitask and prioritize, strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Adapt to ever-changing environment and possess agility between tasks and projects. Proficient in the use of computers and computer software programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Business Partner/Effective Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels. Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion. Collaboration and Teamwork/Influence: Build relationships and communicate effectively in order to positively influence peers and other stakeholders. Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and retains constructive working relationships within the group. Global vision. Culturally sensitive. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on, but not limited to, their job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company’s base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company. USD $ 45,000 - 80,000 Provided salary range minimum and maximum values correspond to variances between regional/geographic locations across the United States.
