Financial Analyst II

This role will support the operations department with financial planning/budgeting, forecasting, reporting actuals, and other budgeting requirements for both revenue and SG&A expenses.

Level of Responsibility

Works under general supervision or direction (employee consults with manager regarding unusual situations)

Internal and External Contacts:  A high level of contact with internal Maritz departments including senior management, corporate departments, and finance leaders. Potential interaction with external groups.

Primary Responsibilities

40%

Supports operations department owners with financial planning/budgeting, forecasting, reporting actuals, and other budgeting requirements requested by the Manger, Financial Analysis. Meets with and presents to department leaders monthly to review the entire P&L statement from revenue to expenses. May interact with clients to review financial performance.

35%

Develops complex financial tools in Excel used to analyze business results and inform decision making. Performs ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling as requested.

25%

Develops metrics and identifies key performance indicators to evaluate business performance. Creates financial scorecards for department leaders.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in finance or equivalent degree required.

2. 4-6 years of finance related experience.

3. Advanced Excel and analytical skills required (query and analyze large sets of data).

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

5. Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and independently.

6. Professional oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization.

7. Strong relationship and team building skills, including successful work with internal and external stakeholders brought together for a common goal.

8. Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Ability to identify and mitigate issues and risks. Ability to bring together diverse groups and articulate issues, options, and solutions.
