Financial Analyst II - Treasury

Responsible for monitoring and analyzing banking activity to ensure all transactions are properly recorded, researching and resolving variances and performing a variety of critical functions and analyses related to bank account reconciliations, cash flow reporting and forecasting, interest expense, SOX compliance, bank and credit card account management, unclaimed property, check deposits, and ACH/wire payments.


KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors daily cash position and credit facility activity. Prepares cash flow projections and other analysis. Tracks expenses including interest expense and bank fees. Provides variance analysis to budget. Researches and responds to positive pay exceptions, deposits checks weekly; initiates daily wire transfer, and analyzes problems associated with deposits and/or cash balances.

• Performs bank and general ledger account reconciliations. Researches variances and resolves issues/inaccuracies, prepares weekly journal entries to post activity to the general ledger, compiles and maintains accounting records and supporting documentation, and prepares and presents reports to management. Works with banking partners to establish/maintain accounts, responds to multiple internal and external inquiries and requests for information.

• Supports escheatment process, including identifying unclaimed property, sending annual reports to appropriate states, and working with the Payroll Department and third party vendor to accurately escheat funds to the appropriate state.

• Responds to internal and external audit requirements and inquiries both quarterly and annually. Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance with respect to applicable Treasury related key controls. Maintains accurate records, provides documentation, and explains processes as requested.

• Makes recommendations and provides expertise in the development of systems, procedures, and controls; ensures the accuracy and quality of completed projects and reports, assesses requirements, determines appropriate application.

• Responds to various inquiries and requests for information; produces scheduled reports/statements and provides explanation of data as needed. Proactively develops and maintains technical knowledge in Treasury and remains up-to-date on current trends and best practices. Performs special projects as requested.

• Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Experience – 2-4 years of related treasury, cash management, finance, banking, or general accounting experience. Outstanding and relevant academic record may be considered in lieu of experience.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Detail oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to organize and present findings/recommendations to management.

• Solid knowledge of accounting/financial concepts, along with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

• Works independently to perform assignments and determines and develops approaches to solutions.

• Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

• Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.


Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to type on a computer keyboard. Ability to operate a 10-key by touch.

The range for this position is $65,900 - $92,300 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
