An industry-leading Design/Build Electrical Contracting client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team based out of Plaistow, NH. This client has been in business for over 50 years, has about 250 employees, and primarily supports the Life Science, Healthcare, Commercial, and Industrial markets. They are a family-owned business and has grown into a multi-million-dollar organization. Through hard work and determination, theyve become the largest service department in New England and the only contracting company that supports every wiring category within a commercial/industrial building space.

You will be working under the guidance of the current Senior Controller, and responsible for managing and assisting the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll Specialists on the Finance/Accounting Team within a dynamic construction environment. You will be responsible for managing the $70 million portfolio including job costing, reconciliation, progress billing reports, and project-based financial tracking. Youll also be responsible for month-end and year-end closings, using Sage 300 software to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Other responsibilities include:
Work closely with the Senior Controller to improve existing accounting policies, as well as develop and monitor new internal controls.
Gain understanding of all accounting job flows to serve as a backup for all department roles. Offer insight on how to streamline existing processes to improve efficiency. Provide support and advice to the team of accounting staff.
Assist and lead new software implementations to ensure system efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with IT or other relevant teams to ensure timely resolutions to any complications or issues.
Collaborate with project management team to resolve any contract or job costing discrepancies, as well as provide financial insights and budget oversight to drive project profitability.
Oversee project closeouts. Ensure all documentation has been sent and received.
Oversee quarterly payroll taxes and associated reporting requirements.
Assist with general ledger reconciliations and annual audits.
Perform ad-hoc research and reporting for misc. tasks as assigned.

This is a fully onsite role in Plaistow, NH and a direct hire opportunity offering $135-145k salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
