Financial Controller

Reports to: SVP Finance, Americas

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth / Fort Lauderdale

Supporting the SVP Finance Americas the Financial Controller has responsibility for ensuring robust oversight, control and compliance with accounting standards, researching and interpreting complex accounting issues, implementing accounting policies and procedures, and providing guidance on technical accounting matters.

The role will extend beyond numbers; and is expected to foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, utilizing strong leadership skills and managing a team of finance professionals. The Financial Controller will liaise with Regional Financial Controllers of the region with key the responsibility of ensuring the following:

Maintaining the financial control environment across all businesses / countries within the region, to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy. Co-ordination and management of the external audit process including management of country finance resource input into audit process and liaison with senior internal and external stakeholders. Be a key point of contact for the senior members of the audit team to ensure efficient delivery of the external audit. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting data Day to day responsibility for the Shared Service Center in country and offshore, including General Ledger reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Billing. Maintaining the financial control environment across all businesses / countries within the region. Day to day responsibility for the Shared Service Center in Dallas, including General Ledger reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Billing.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring Americas businesses are aware of & are monitoring performance against key reporting deadlines. Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting professional development and performance excellence. Monitor & support the SVP Finance to maintain and improve the financial controls across all Regions. Ensures proper implementation of all financial controls and policies. Act as the key interface for reporting with Menzies Aviation Group finance. Ensures compliance with Corporate Governance, accounting policy and Group Finance manual across all businesses. Ensures all statutory requirements are met by the regions. Project support – e.g., start-ups, pricing models, acquisitions, including reviewing of financial validity of investment proposals.

Qualifications

At least 8 years’ senior experience. Self-motivated and disciplined with proven management experience of a large team. Exposure/experience of a regional/multi-country and currency business model Experience of use and development of finance systems including ERP and planning Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at different levels and from different cultural/ethnic backgrounds. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation required. Prepared to travel within operational Region. Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
