ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Report to the Finance Director with timely and accurate financial information.
· Support and assist the Finance Director with Statutory reporting deadlines and special projects.
· Manage all Finance and accounting operations, coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecast, and report variances.
· Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
· Manage the Finance team, providing leadership and direction in preparation of monthly close, ensuring completeness and accuracy in accounting operations.
· Work with external Auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits to monitor progress, answer questions, resolve issues, and assure that audits are completed on schedule and within budget.
· Train, monitor and coordinate new and existing employees in Company’s financial systems.
· Monitor closely company’s inventory and depository accounts.
· Responsible for all external group and subsidiary statutory accounting and reporting, ensuring all external reporting is technically accurate and up to date.
· Responsible for all tax compliance, preparing and filing corporation tax & VAT returns
· Provide technical accounting support and expertise to the business
· Responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting & reporting requirements (IFRS, Dutch and US GAAP’s).
· Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department and workflow process improvements whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Manage the Finance team members in the BENELUX accordingly and ensure Skechers policies are adhered to in all aspects of people management that are applicable to this position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to interpret financial information. predict future trends, monitor cashflow and maintain budgets.
Work cross functionally to advise co-workers and stakeholders of any financial changes affecting the business.
Strong analytical and IT skills with intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
Experience in conducting reviews and evaluation of cost-reduction opportunities.
Highly competent in managing financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
Ability to develop external relationships with appropriate contacts such as Auditors, Banks, and Statutory Organisations.
Ability to produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines.
Extensive working knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
Customer service focused, discreet and professional with good communication skills.
Organised with a methodical approach to work.
A strong team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Experience and training, or equivalent combination of education & training in Accounting or Business & Finance, part qualified or studying towards a CIMA or ACCA qualification essential.
Knowledge of the Fashion or Footwear industry desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, you will occasionally be required to remain in a stationary position whilst working on a VDU, reaching with hands and arms.
This position requires a high level of concentration for sustained periods with the expectation to meet deadlines. You will frequently communicate with internal and external customers, both in person and over the telephone and must be able to accurately exchange information in these situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position is in Skechers Benelux Head Office within a standard office environment, with adequate lighting, noise levels and temperature etc.
