FINANCIAL COORDINATOR, Materials Science and Engineering, will be responsible for general compliance of department and research accounts and serve as a key component of research operation; coordinate sponsored program and gift-related financial activities; perform diverse financial duties such as preparing, reviewing, and submitting budgets, reconciling and auditing monthly accounts, and preparing and analyzing financial reports for multiple accounts or projects; advise Principal Investigators, other faculty, researchers and staff on matters pertaining to research administration; escalate complex matters to management; coordinate the preparation, review, and submission of budgets or grants proposals, following appropriate policies and procedures; assist direct supervisor or faculty members with proposal development and submissions in accordance with MIT, sponsor, or donor policies; track and monitor the financial performance of grants and contracts to ensure compliance with MIT and sponsor policies and consistency with approved award budget; monitor and manage payroll distribution and salary distribution changes; monitor account balances for overruns and prepare accounts receivable invoices.
