Financial Counselor - ER 8 hour shift- Pine Ridge
Works with health insurance providers to determine coverage and benefit limits. Advises patients of procedure costs and alternative sources of funding. May arrange for referrals or second opinions. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Works in a fast pace environment in the emergency room informing and guiding patients regarding their medical insurance benefits/coverage and financial options while being sensitive to patient conditions. Self-starter, attention to details, time management and customer service experiences in a medical environment preferred. Relies on experience and good judgment to set, plan and execute their day in order to accomplish daily goals while working as a part of a highly motivated and successful team.
