Position Highlights:
The Financial Counselor on the Patient Account Resolution team is responsible for working a call queue and assisting patients by processing financial assistance applications, working self-pay accounts, making payment arrangements, taking payments, providing estimates, and responding to patient account inquiries for both the hospital and physician billing.The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proficiency in mathematical calculations and various analysis techniques. Experience using Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
Responsibilities:
Answer calls from a phone queue regarding patient account inquiries, payments, financial assistance, estimates, settlements, payment plans for both the hospital and physician billing. Attend peer review meetings and educational training to refine customer service skills. Other duties as assigned.Credentials and Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a healthcare setting with an emphasis in physician/hospital collections, insurance verification, and/or financial counseling. **Two (2) years Moffitt Revenue Cycle experience can be considered in lieu of three (3) years' experience.**
