ING’s Financial Markets division offers hedging, investment products, and securities financing solutions to clients of ING’s Wholesale Banking division. Note that this posting is related to two available roles: 1) Financial Institution Sales and 2) Financial Markets Trading

The Financial Institutions Sales team specializes in marketing risk management solutions to financial institutions (banks, hedge funds, asset managers, etc.).  This includes providing hedging solutions related to interest rate, commodity and FX price risk exposure. Typical hedging transactions include flow and structured commodities and FX hedging, interest rate swaps and cross-currency swaps.

The Financial Markets Trading team executes trades / manages trading books for different asset classes including FX, rates, non-linear, commodities and credit products for both Corporate and Financial Institutional clients.

Responsibilities:

Institutional Sales:

Provide proactive coverage of an existing portfolio of financial institutional clients for rates, FX and commodity products, and help develop new client relationships in partnership with other members of the sales team and ING’s relationship managers.Proactive coverage will include monitoring of market developments, identifying commercial opportunities, preparing trade ideas and pitches, and delivery of content to customers.Coordinate internal pre-trade preparation to ensure legal, compliance, risk, and operational elements are met, including the negotiation and execution of derivative documentation.Execute client transactions in partnership with traders and provide post-trade client and operational support where needed.Close cooperation with Trading, Relationship Managers, Risk Management, Legal, Operations and Compliance.

Financial Markets Trading:

Assist senior traders and salespeople with administrative work related to trading transactions.Participate in risk calls and internal trader/sales initiatives to collaborate with colleagues of the firms on trade ideas, key risk views and positions, client activity, etc.Input trades into the trading system, assist in running profit and loss daily reports, etc.Assist with trading desk activities including providing timely and accurate pricing, post trade monitoring, etc.

Qualifications and Competencies

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with preference for Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field. Graduation date of December 2023 or May 2024.Prior relevant financial markets experience preferred.

Competencies:

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders in other lines of business.Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.Genuine interest for financial markets and global economics.Creative in storytelling and writing, focused on framing the best possible strategy for the client.Go-getter, showing a level of initiative that allows us to take the business forward.Team player, willing to assist wherever needed.
