Summary About the Position: Serves as a Financial Management Analyst in the Financial Services Section, Financial Integration Branch, G8, Human Resources Command. Performs professional work requiring the application of accounting and budgeting theories, concepts, and practices to ensure that financial management and accounting systems produce accurate results and meet legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Assist with the coordination and performance of fiscal year end actions/deadlines to ensure a successful year end close out for the Command and higher HQ. Routinely identifies researches, analyzes, and performs corrective actions for unmatched obligation and disbursement data on the Automated Order and Resources System (AORS) to Standard Army Financial Information System (STANFINS) Reconciliation. Monitor, analyze, and report performance metrics which aid program managers in carrying out their responsibility to use government resources effectively and efficiently. Routinely reviews accounting data for the purpose of correcting or adjusting line item entries in the official accounting systems to allow an accurate depiction of the Command's financial position. GS-12- Specialized experience is defined as work that involves at the GS-11 level: (1) Experience performing a variety of accounting, budgetary, administrative and analytical functions related to financial management; and (2) Experience utilizing various automated financial systems to maintain financial records or compile financial reports. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Support Financial Concepts, Policies, and Principles Financial Management Analysis Financial Management Systems Financial Stewardship Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
