Description of Work
NCDOT is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Department’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Controller and to support key initiatives in NCDOT’s Financial Management Division (FMD).
In this position you would:
+ Manage calendars and schedules, coordinate meetings, field calls and emails, and prepare/edit documents.
+ Help manage internal and external relationships.
+ Help develop and implement office systems, policies, and procedures.
+ Maintain and improve filing and record-keeping systems.
While regular remote work is allowed and encouraged, you would be working on-site at NCDOT’s headquarters approximately 75% of the time and sometimes more depending on the needs and schedules of the CFO and Controller. NCDOT’s headquarters, known as the “Transportation Building” is located at 1 South Wilmington Street near the State Capitol building in downtown Raleigh.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Management preferences include:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
