Financial Management Sr. Consultant
Position Summary

Work you’ll do 

As a Senior Consultant within our Accounting & Internal Controls Offering, you will provide accounting and financial analysis support to develop efficient business processes and solutions needed to obtain and sustain an unmodified financial audit opinion, maintain compliance with financial statutes and regulations, and fulfill the client’s financial reporting requirements. You will be asked to prepare budget formulation materials and spend plans, integrate data across multiple systems, and analyze financial performance and prepare managerial reports that provide robust explanations of trends / variances. You should be able to brief executives on results, identify opportunities for efficiencies in work process, and develop innovative approaches to complete the scope of work. You must be willing to participate in team problem solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues while maintaining responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products. You may be asked to assist in proposal development, provide coaching to junior staff, and other activities that will expand your consulting skills and professional development such as training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients.

Qualifications 

Required: 

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or another business-related field3+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in financial analysisAt least 1 year of experience preparing budget formulation materials and spend plansAt least 1 year of experience serving as the functional point of contact for day-to-day budget / financial issuesAbility to obtain and maintain the required Security Clearance for this role. Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance with Polygraph is required for this roleAbility to travel 20 - 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveAbility to work on client location in the DC areaMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future


Preferred: 

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) LicenseCDFM or CGFM certificationExperience with CGI MomentumPrior professional services or federal consulting experienceFinancial analysis and management reporting experienceAdvanced proficiency with MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, macros, VBA, lookups)Budget process and systems experienceCost accounting/cost allocation experienceWorking Capital Fund (WCF) experienceStrong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience exercising mature judgmentExperience working independently with minimal guidanceDemonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audienceProficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools
