Are you someone who can:

Plan and apply relevant principles to accurately record, adjust and reconcile financial transactions and events. Maintain appropriate supporting documentation according to professional financial accounting and reporting standards.Record, interrogate and manage costs with associated drivers in the production, analysis and use of information for decision-making in the business.Coordinate the budget preparation and manage the process throughout the budget period in accordance with guidelines and assumptions. Monitor and report variance analysis to support decision making and guide management in taking corrective action.Prepare and report on the business’s operations and financial conditions. Manage the business unit reporting systems for management, project or performance reporting and implement optimal processes to deliver management information according to the reporting cycle.Analyse the financial statements and data to provide insights about the financial performance and position of the business unit(s). Use analytics to identify variances and root causes, and propose appropriate solutions.Execute relevant internal controls to ensure the integrity of operations, financial and accounting practices. Evaluate risk factors that could adversely affect the business unit(s). Implement procedures to mitigate identified risks or exposure to risk, and disclose risk information to relevant internal and external stakeholders.Manage and monitor the applications and effectiveness of the business’s financial information systems.Review and prepare tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax legislation and regulation; provide advice and solutions to business tax matters.Maximise productivity through efficient planning of people and processes to drive optimal utilisation of available resources; identify and implement improvements to accounting and reporting processes.Manage the interrelationships between various systems, data and other resources to ensure effective project planning and delivery.Monitor and coach behaviours that ensure a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client.Partner with stakeholders in the provision of financial insights and guidance into the operational and general decision making and debates.Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate.Participate and contribute to a development culture where information regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas are actively shared.Plan and manage performance, skills development, succession and talent management and culture of team in order to improve performance and competence.

Required Qualification

CA (SA) essential with 3-5 years’ post articles experience in a similar environment

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain cost models aligned to standard drivers and methodologies to reflect both business expectations and Steerco guidance.Manage end to end cost accounting projects involving a segment, business unit, function or country/region from strategy articulation through to model design and implementation.Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including Costing SteerCo,technical committees, business unit, segment and franchise stakeholders.Coordinate and manage the quality of team’s work, continuously monitoring compliance to quality and implementing improvements where required.Actively coach team through providing advice about subject matter, solutions, principles and processes.
