Financial Markets and Investments Manager
About the Role & TeamAs a Financial Market and Investments Manager for The Walt Disney Company, you will play an important role in helping the Company raise capital in the global financial markets and manage the Company’s relationships with investment banks (such as JPMorgan, Goldman Sach and Morgan Stanley) and credit rating agencies (Moody’s, S&P and Fitch). This role sits within the Corporate Finance team, which serves as an in-house financial advisor for the Company and helps solve challenging financial questions on a daily basis, including shareholder capital return recommendations (share repurchases/dividends), optimal leverage/credit ratings, and financial support for potential M&A transactions.
What You Will DoThe Manager will assist in overseeing the Company's capital structure, including managing financial risk, raising capital, maintaining liquidity, and supporting funding strategies. This role involves close collaboration with key internal stakeholders, include Financial Planning (FP&A), Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Legal and Controllership. Additionally, this Manager will partner closely with external stakeholders, including investment banks, financial institutions, and credit rating agencies. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving and analytical skills and an interest in global financial markets, including capital raising and financing strategies. They will also bring relationship management skills (i.e. collaborating with other stakeholders) and experience managing complex projects and transactions. The Manager will have responsibility for driving major financing activities to support strategic initiatives and growth across the Company and will prepare financial analyses and presentation materials for senior management, including the Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, Board of Directors and business unit leadership. The Manager will also have the opportunity to participate in meetings with senior professionals across many of the top investment banks globally (as well as our credit rating agencies).
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned for Corporate Finance, the Financial Markets and Investments Manager will also have the opportunity to work on projects for the Pension & Investments Foreign Exchange Risk Management teams within Treasury. Key responsibilities for each team include:
Corporate Finance / Capital Markets
Oversee the Company’s capital structure and manage Disney’s banking and rating agency relationships; structure, negotiate and execute financings to support strategic initiativesManage refinancings for revolving credit facilities totaling $12.25 billion with over 30 banksOversee day-to-day liquidity planning and execute funding in the debt capital markets; issued $30 billion of bonds and nearly $15 billion of interest rate derivatives over the last five yearsArrange M&A financing as needed (e.g., $36 billion cash consideration for 21st Century Fox acquisition)Pension & Investments
Oversee $25 billion of retirement plan assets encompassing both defined benefit (pension) and defined contribution (401(k)) plansAsset allocation and selection of investment fund managers and vehicles across asset classes, including equities, fixed income and alternatives (private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, etc.) Close monitoring of financial markets and fund / manager performancePrepare presentations and participate in quarterly Investment & Administrative Committee (IAC) meetings with senior management (including the Treasurer, CFO, General Counsel and Chief Human Resources Officer)Foreign Exchange Risk Management & International Treasury

The hiring range for this position in [Burbank] is $137,100.00-$167,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
