Financial Operations Analyst

Our Opportunity:
The primary focus of the Financial Operations Analyst will be to be part of a growing team that will drive operational excellence regarding managing vendor short payments and vendor setup (non-inventory vendors). You will act as the liaison across Controllership, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Merchandising functions. You will analyze data to better understand financial and logistical trends to drive change and deliver benefits to the organization. As Chewy grows both organically and inorganically, you will be responsible to ensure processes are standardized, operating effectively, and continuously improved to be the best in class.

What You’ll Do:
• Research and analyze data, build data models and advise on financial decisions.
• Report on KPIs and hold teams accountable for delivery of benefits.
• Utilize business acumen and analytical tools to make high-quality decisions quickly.
• Collaborate with teams to identify process improvements as it relates to reducing reoccurring payment holds and trends as well as help drive vendor behavior changes, leading to lower vendor payment holds.
• Drive standardization and process improvements as Chewy grows organically and inorganically, ensuring proper policies and procedures are in place and using technology as an enabler.
• Analyze vendor disputes and coordinate effective reviews and responses to maintain vendor relationships
• Review vendor setup documentation along with the appropriate approvals that exist for non-inventory vendors and create/amend vendors in Oracle under the established SLA.
• Master data management to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies to drive cost savings.

What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite and Reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
• 2+ years’ experience in building & analyzing large data sets, arriving at data-based insights, and formulating actionable recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Strict attention to details, and high personal accountability.
• Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines.
• Must have a vast knowledge of general accounting concepts and principles.
• Oracle ERP experience strongly preferred.
