SUMMARY:

The Financial Operations Team Lead position is an adjacent title to a functional title within the Financial Operations team and will be responsible for specialty unit (CBU) process and workflows, in addition to their daily duties, while acting with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy and decision-making.  Provides professional, courteous service to our clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, while providing support for all aspects of the financial operations of the region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs daily duties as outlined in a separately defined job description (Financial Operations Specialist)Attends operational meetings as outlined by leadership; sharing, training and implementing learned strategiesAssists in developing and implementing specialty unit process and workflows, including training plans for specialty unit staffPerforms desk audits within the specialty unit (CBU), as directed by leadership and then assists with coaching staff individually on any improvements identified as a result of the auditCoordinates and conducts training for specialty unit (CBU)May provide assistance in the recruiting and hiring process and participates in the new hire onboarding process.Champions communication of goals, vision, and procedures developed by the leadership teamsWorks with Operational Team Leaders, Accounting, Human Resources, and others to assist in impelementing regional projects and directivesIn conjunction with Financial Operations Manager, may be required to immediately and effectively address and resolve employee performance concerns utilizing Regional Human Resources and Operations resources as necessaryMay direct employee workflow, workload and overall performanceProvides feedback to management to improve performance and productivityMay coordinate time off within unit to ensure service level and appropriate reporting of time offIn conjunction with Financial Operations Manager, may conduct or assist with annual performance reviews for specialty unitAnswers phone inquiries and addresses problems in a timely mannerTravels on company business as requiredPrepares reports for management as requiredPerforms other duties and projects as assignedInvoices all agency bill items for the South Florida region, including new business, renewals, endorsements, audits, consulting fees, etc.Follows set workflows for all agency invoicingReview account set up in agency management system to ensure critical fields are set up appropriately before invoicingReview and update commission data in agency management system for all parties relevant to commission informationWork with our HUB Financial Center (HFC) to review and correct all discrepanciesWork with payables team to expedite corrections and carrier payments to avoid cancellation noticesWork to resolve accounting activities created as a result of the team’s work effortsTrack aged receivables and work with advisors and servicers on collection timingWork with advisors and servicers to resolve any internal billing errors in agency management systems to ensure they are paid correctlyGenerate invoices/statements in Epic for distributionReview monthly NOCs & issuesOther duties as related to direct bill transactions, corrections and reportsSupports team with regards to anty M&A responsibilitiesChampions communication of goals, vision, and procedures developed by the leadership teamsPrepares reports for management as requiredOther accounting duties as assigned which may be outside of CBU duties

REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year college degree preferred3+ years experience in accounting/finance related fields3+ years insurance industry knowledge Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsSuperior customer service and problem solving skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)Detail-oriented self-starterStrong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skillsSignificant skill in handling competing demands and projectsExcellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and delegate responsibilityMastery of virtual technology, including meeting scheduling, video display and screen sharingRelevant Insurance licenses per state/regional statutes, preferred, but may not be required

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: Negligible

Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
