This position reports to the International Freight Forwarding Divisional Controller and is located in Secaucus, NJ. The Manager of FP&A will work across all business partners with the objective of delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights. The ideal individual will have demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Many of these duties will involve interface with senior management and will require a high degree of professionalism, tact, sensitivity, initiative and diplomacy.
Responsibilities Conduct assigned financial studies and surveys to collect, summarize and analyze the financial results of operational activitiesImprove financial status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends and making recommendationsDevelop, implement and maintain reports to support the organization accounting function as required, including financial and operational KPI reporting in Power BI dashboardsLead or assist on special projects as assigned by division management Collaborate in monthly analysis of results and forecastsAssist in the annual planning and budgeting process by developing relevant budget documents and calibrating and creating monthly forecastsSupport the Business Units in building the budget in required formatsUnder the guidance of the Division Controller –Review monthly financial reports prepared by accounting department and identify reasons for variancesAnalyze trends in accounting/financial data and make recommendations to capitalize on positive trends or reverse negative trendsFinancial Forecast (monthly)Validate financial forecasts based on data Coordinate with the corporate financial analysis teamAssist in vetting capital investment projects Support business units in improving quality of financial dataQualifications Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other related Degree4-6 years of experience in financial analysis2+ years of supervisory/ managerial experienceExperience in financial analysis and accounting for logistics operations is highly desirableA CPA designation or MBA degree is a strong plusStrong Excel and Powerpoint skills are required. Working knowledge of operational ERP systems and Power BI is desirable
