Overview:\n

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) provides comprehensive and dedicated support to the Navy of research, development, test and evaluation, analysis, systems engineering, integration and certification of complex naval warfare systems and fleet support. Additional support for professional and operational support services is required as NSWCDD continues to provide the military with testing and certification by utilizing its Potomac River Test Range in Dahlgren, VA and provides fleet support at NSWCDD Dam Neck which is located in Virginia Beach, VA.\n

Job Summary:\n

Provide accounting support for day-to-day operations at NSWCDD.\n
\n

Education and Experience:\n\nFour (4) years related experience, with at least two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following: \nfinancial audit\naccounting\nanalysis\nGovernment travel policy and administration\ncivilian pay and leave policy and administration\nassessing program compliance with Financial Management Regulations (FMR) \nfinancial and accounting transactions\nprogram cost analysis\n\n
\n

Essential Duties: \n\nReconcile commitments and obligations in support of the validation of accounting transactions by working with departments, Contracts, Accounting, and Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS)\nReconcile expenses, accruals and accounts payable in support of the validation of accounting transactions by working with departments, Contracts, Accounting, and DFAS\nPerform research and analysis of detailed transactions and reports for corrections of erroneous charges to include complex calculations of high visibility tasks\nWork with Accounting to ensure programs are in compliance with Department of Navy (DoN), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), and local instructions\nMaintain files in order and fax\/scan documents to include all Accounting programs\nWork with DFAS to review validation requests for \"Invoice Pre-Validation\". Upon review of the requests the Contractor will report findings supporting the acceptance or rejection to the Government accounting official to respond to DFAS\n\n

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:\n\nDemonstrated ability to apply current DoD and Navy financial and administrative directives to Navy programs.\n\n
