This position is responsible for providing technical accounting assistance in the organization and managing the monthly consolidation and reporting process. This individual will also participate in financial reviews of operating divisions and locations and will interface regularly with divisional VPs of Finance and Controllers. This role is highly collaborative and will be a resource to multiple teams throughout the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and schedules for the quarterly and annual reporting to Berkshire Hathaway and other stakeholders.Manage the monthly global consolidation/close process and analytically review data submitted to identify potential errorsPerform continuous assessment of the close process and re-engineer processes to reduce the time required to close the financial periodReview intercompany elimination journal entriesResponsible for chart of accounts maintenanceManage the collection and review of data provided by subsidiaries on a monthly and quarterly basis for internal, government and other ad-hoc reportingSystem administrator for the Oracle FCCS US GAAP and Management Reporting applicationReview judgmental areas of accounting throughout the organization and assist with documentation of complex accounting mattersEvaluate commercial contract terms for appropriate accounting treatment (i.e., revenue recognition, embedded leases, liquidated damages, consignment, settlements)Provide support and guidance on technical accounting questions to division/plant contactsDevelop policies that adhere to company and general accounting standardsSupport internal and external audit processesOther duties as assigned

Required Experience/Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferredMinimum of 5 years public accounting experience (larger accounting firm preferred) and 3-5 years industry experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and key finance and accounting principlesExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong critical thinking and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented self-started with the ability to prioritize to meet routine and non-routine deadlinesTeam player who embraces changeMotivated to deliver a quality product and willingness to take on additional responsibilitiesOracle EPM including SmartView knowledge a plusAbility to travel up to 25% of the time (estimated) /*generated inline style */   All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. /*generated inline style */ This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
