You will be responsible for providing value added information and analysis for internal customers and executive leadership and developing and monitoring KPIs to help drive continuous improvement while collaborating with business leaders. Additionally, the Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting functions of POET LLC, including financial reporting and forecasting, internal control compliance, process development, and team supervision and development.
DURING A TYPICAL DAYBuild and maintain relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders.Lead a team of finance professionals to drive value added financial reporting and strategy.Prepare multiple, multi-level consolidated financial statements, including review of all intercompany eliminations.Review and analyze monthly forecasted consolidated financial statements, the consolidated annual budget, and related reporting packages.Oversee accounting, monthly reporting, forecasting, and analysis for various functional areas, including shared services.Collaborate with shared service department VPs to manage department budgets and financials.You will have key responsibilities in external audits, preparing, reviewing, and communication with audit team.Frequently connect with your team members to guide, coach, and develop them in meeting their personal and professional goals.Liaise with other business unit and functional departments to ensure alignment of goals and accuracy of reporting.Research and document non-routine and complex accounting issues.Oversee internal controls analysis and compliance for your areas of responsibility.Effectively manage the team by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training team members. Leadership responsibilities also include delegating, coaching, managing performance and career development to effectively execute departmental strategies and support company objectives.Work in an honest and ethical manner; maintain confidentiality on all business-relatedAlways foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance.Maintain a team environment and champion POET in theSince we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skill may be put to a lot of other uses! STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is requiredCPA with 10+ years of experience working in accounting and financial reporting, also requiredYou have experience in public accounting, experience with financial statement consolidations or experience with financial auditingYou have extensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong technical accounting skills, and experience applying GAAP to complex accounting situationsYou value relationships, are driven and highly energeticYou have grit, the ability to persevere and rally teams to achieve extraordinary results.You communicate effectively in writing and in person.You have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.You are a change agent – you hate the answer, “because we have always done it this way” and drive continual process improvementYou have the ability to recruit, hire, build, and lead a strong teamYou have experience building comprehensive reporting packages and dashboards, experience in working in various financial reporting software is a plusYou have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteGROWTH OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN POETAt POET we believe in developing our team members to their highest potential and recognizing
