Our Insurance Reporting team, which is part of the External Reporting Team, has an opportunity for a Financial Reporting Specialist to join. As part of the Corporate Controllers Department, the Insurance Reporting team supports GAAP and Statutory financial reporting across multiple legal entities, including subsidiary financial statements, disclosures, analysis, various regulatory filing submissions, external reporting for Separate Accounts and internal and external audit support. The team partners with Business Unit Finance and Operations areas, Actuarial, as well as other corporate areas.
 

The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
 

What you can expect:

Preparation of various subsidiary financial statements and disclosures, legal entity financial statement driver analysis, while ensuring the control, timeliness, and accuracy of the financial statements

 Preparation of analysis and reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in PFI 10-Q/K and subsidiary financial statements, including Pruco and PLNJ 10-Q/K filings with the SEC.

Partner with Business Unit Finance teams, corporate areas and other internal business partners on accounting and reporting matters

Preparation of stand-alone audited financial statements and footnote preparation (including collaboration with external auditors and several internal support teams) which are filed with regulators, and/or used for client purposes

Assist with the implementation of new or updated GAAP accounting guidance

Support quarterly/annual audits by internal or external auditors

Maintain internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and Enterprise Accounting Policies and Procedures

Continuously identify efficiencies and improve effectiveness by determining best practices

Support special projects, initiatives, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis requests
 

What you’ll need:

Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance

3 - 5 years of financial reporting and analysis experience

Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles

Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and effectively prioritize workload within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, lookups)

Ability to build collaborative relationships and partner on various assignments

Overtime expected during peak reporting periods and must have the flexibility to work hours that accommodate U.S. offices

It’d be a plus if you had:

Advanced degree or designation (MBA, CPA) or pursuit towards

Insurance and/or Investment experience a plus

Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles

Experience with Prudential Financial systems a plus (Oracle, Essbase, Supplemental System, and Workiva applications)

What we offer you:Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $71,100.00 to $105,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
