Job Description Summary

The candidate will be responsible for the construction and development of new processes (and modify existing ones) to load (and transform) data from existing financial applications into the financial data warehouse.  The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing processes that meet the business need, yet do not negatively impact to our existing process. The candidate will be responsible for creating project plans, and technical requirements, to effectively execute the tasks necessary to develop the new process (or modify the existing one).  The candidate will be responsible for creating testing plans (and participates in the testing) to ensure the process developed publishes accurate and complete data to the Oracle financial data warehouse.

The candidate will also be responsible for analyzing the data residing in the financial data warehouse (sourced from the various projects) to ensure the data reconciles to the data in our general ledger application. 

Job Description

U. S. Bank is seeking a detail oriented Financial Systems Analyst to support the Finance Division’s managerial and regulatory reporting system, sourced by our Oracle Financial Data Warehouse.  This job involves attending IT project meetings and representing our team in these meetings to understand the business need.  This will allow the candidate to properly define the objective, and the scope, of the work to be done.  The candidate then writes the business requirements used to design and develop the process to meet the business need.  The candidate then works with our team to develop the process within the Oracle Financial Data Warehouse to fulfill the requirement.  The candidate is expected to properly test the outcome of the process created and properly migrate the work to a production environment.  The candidate is then responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the process once it is working in the production environment.  Additional responsibilities include maintaining the documentation necessary for other team members to efficiently troubleshoot any issues that arise with the process created.

Another primary responsibility of the candidate includes analyzing the data in the financial data warehouse to ensure the data reconciles to the data in our general ledger application.  This responsibility includes writing and executing queries (using Oracle PL/SQL) on the data to analyze the results and ensure its accuracy and completeness.

Specific Duties

- Attend technical business meetings to collect and understand business requirements.

- Write technical requirements based on the business need communicated.

- Design and develop a technical process that fulfills the business requirement.

- Create a technical process that involves creating database objects in the Oracle database, such as; tables, views, and procedures using PL/SQL.

- Create test plans to ensure data accuracy and completeness. 

- Reconcile data in the data warehouse to the data in the general ledger application. 

- Collaborate with other teams to enrich the data with their calculations (primarily transfer pricing calculations, and Basel / Economic Equity calculations).

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, CS, Statistics, Math, Accounting, Finance or Economics, or equivalent work experience
- Typically, six to eight years of related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Advanced analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication skills-both written and oral.

- Experience in financial systems technology.

- Experience in using Autosys scheduling platform.

- Experience in database technologies such as; SQL, SQL Loader, Oracle PL/SQL, and TOAD for Oracle.

- Expertise in managing projects and manage multiple tasks on aggressive schedules.

- Advanced understanding of financial and business related concepts.

- Proficiency in Microsoft desktop tools such as Excel and Access are required.

- Proficiency in project management / workflow tools such as Jira.

- Strong attention to detail and organization

- Strong understanding of Financial, Banking and/or Business concepts

- Desire and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work

- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deliver results on aggressive deadlines

- Skill in project management

- Expertise in work flow analysis, system testing (Agile)

- Experience in requirements and functional design analysis and system development life cycle

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00 - $120,120.00
