Financial Systems Analyst/Accountant

The Financial Systems Analyst/Accountant is responsible for the implementation of financial systems to include ongoing software maintenance and updates, end user support and training. This position also includes financial responsibilities for the utility to include managing long-term debt, treasury functions, and support of the Controller and Assistant Controller. Starting Salary Range: $106,951.00 - $132,087.00 This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska What you will do Project Manager for financial system implementations and upgrades to include ongoing software maintenance and updates, first line technical support and training to financial system users and assist with IT testing and issue resolution. Work closely with the Controller and Manager of Plant Accounting and Finance to evaluate, develop, and implement new procedures to improve efficiency. Manage revolving debt facility and related accounting activity. Treasury Management. Manage accounting for 20 plus components of long-term corporate debt. Support budget process related to debt and capital expenditure driven cash demands. Calculate capital project overhead rates. Perform tax accounting as directed by the Controller. Backup for Controller and Assistant Controller on select functions. Conditions of Employment Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Information Systems (MIS). Required 5+ years of experience in accounting. Required Experience in regulated utility accounting Experience. Preferred Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Access). Knowledge of relational databases and reporting packages. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy. Ability to document and explain complex accounting transactions. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to schedule and coordinate tasks and resources. Ability to manage implementation of software related to financial systems and upgrade projects. Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
