Summary of Position

As a Financial Systems & IT Controls Intern, you will play a vital role in enhancing and maintaining Jabil’s internal control framework to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) Section 404. SOX 404 requires companies to establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data. You will work closely with experienced professionals to document, implement, and monitor IT controls that help protect the integrity of large-scale ERP systems (SAP) and other industry-leading applications used across Jabil’s global operations. These IT controls are essential for safeguarding financial data, preventing fraud, ensuring system security, and supporting regulatory compliance. This hands-on opportunity will give you valuable experience in IT risk management, system integrity, and process optimization, helping you build essential skills in financial system security, compliance, and implementing technology-driven controls within a fast-paced, global organization.

Intern Duties & Responsibilities

Develop & Refine Controls: Help design and improve key financial IT controls for new and existing processes.Optimize Compliance: Analyze and enhance internal control structures to strengthen SOX compliance.Evaluate & Improve Processes: Review financial systems and business operations to ensure compliance with SOX and corporate policies.Drive Global Standards: Support consistent implementation of Jabil’s internal control framework across all sites.Educate & Empower: Assist in creating SOX training materials to enable process owners with compliance best practices.Protect & Secure: Uphold company security policies to safeguard critical financial data.Expand Your Impact: Take on additional projects, gaining hands-on experience in risk management and financial governance.

Qualifications

Basic understanding of accounting principles and IT knowledgeBasic critical thinking and analytical skills to help evaluate information received and identify critical trends in the information being reviewed.Basic understanding of the technical aspects of accounting and financial reporting.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.Effective CommunicationSelf-starter – Ability to drive workLeadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience

 

Education

Currently enrolled at an accredited university/college as rising Junior or Senior.Preferred Majors: Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and other related majors GPA: 3.0+  Must be available to work in St. Petersburg, Florida from May 19, 2025 – Aug 8, 2025
