The Idaho Department of Labor has an opportunity for a full-time Financial Technician, Senior in the Accounting bureau. This position will develop and maintain financial records, reports and financial data, review financial documents and have the ability to perform some entry level accounting, bookkeeping or audit functions.

Example of Duties
Financial Transaction
+ Assist with processing employee travel and miscellaneous expense reimbursements.
+ Assist with PCard transaction processing and the monthly PCard payment cycle.
+ Gather appropriate back-up documentation for accounting transactions.
+ Maintain grant documents in a SharePoint site and make updates in Luma.
+ Assist with month-end close process.
+ Serve as a back-up agency Buyer.
+ Perform audits for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to be considered for this positi on. Some knowledge of:
+ Accounting principles and practices - Typically gained by completion of six (6) semester credits of accounting coursework OR at least one (1) year of professional financial work experience.
Good knowledge of:
+ Financial record keeping methods - Typically gained by successful completion of six (6) college credits covering financial record keeping methods OR one (1) year of professional work experience where primary duties involved financial record keeping that included reconciling, balancing, and proofing financial data. Paying personal bills, collection money, purchasing items or maintaining a rotary fund is not qualifying at this level.
Experience:
+ Bookkeeping - Typically gained by one (1) semester of high school bookkeeping or equivalent training OR approximately six (6) months of professional work experience where your primary duties involved making routine debit and credit transactions.
+ Using advanced Microsoft Excel functions - Typically gained by one (1) semester of high school or equivalent training regarding the use of advance Excel functions, OR approximately six (6) months professional work experience where your primary duties involved using advance Excel functions to develop worksheets, summaries and reports.
+ Using a personal computer to retrieve, edit, analyze financial data and research and compile financial info and preparing summaries and reports - Typically gained by successful completion of two (2) computer courses on electronic spreadsheets and/or accounting software OR one (1) year of professional experience using computer financial application software. This experience may be gained in a volunteer role, in an educational setting, and/or as professional work experience. Balance checkbooks, personal finances and using home financial software is not qualifying at this level.
