Financial Technologies (Treasury) Internship(Summer 2025)- Americas

Siemens Mobility US is looking for an aspiring Information Technology or Business Analytics / Data Analysis professional with an interest in the application of digitalization and automation solutions to financial and commercials topics. The appropriate candidate to join our team for a 10 – 12-week internship journey where they will get exposure to what happens behind the scenes to make the rail world go round.

During your summer with us, you will have the opportunity as a member of the Treasury Team for Mobility in the Americas to immerse yourself with possibilities around guaranties and surety, cash management, foreign exchange, and exposure to commercial topics such as bid preparation and ongoing project management.

A little bit about us

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service (our “Business Units”). We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

How does Treasury play into the big picture?

The Treasury Team for Mobility Americas supports the Businesses Units with meeting needs around functions such as foreign exchange and liquidity management, insurance, and guaranties. Within the Treasury organization, we work with the Business Units throughout the project lifecycle from the pre-bid stage through project closure to manage requirements under the fields outlined above.

What you will do…

·       Learn about our standard processes.

·       Work with internal and external finance professionals and IT technical professionals through shadowing and the assignment of relevant tasks to build up your practical knowledge.

·       Interface with different areas of the Treasury and Mobility Americas organization and learn about how collaboration drives success.

·       Gain insight into finance products and functions with a focus on IT – with potential exposure to artificial intelligence (tools such as Chat GPT and Copilot), Power Apps, Tableau reports, Siemens applications and tools, and more!

Basic Qualifications:

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in the Information Technologies Field or Business (with a concentration in Business Analytics or Data Analysis) or similar courses of study from an accredited college or university Legal authorization to work in the US is required Must reside or go to school near internship location in New York City or in the Sacramento, CA area.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 Previous internship experience or relevant school projects Effective communication skills – verbal and written Ability to work on a team Interest in learning about treasury management, the application of technology in finance, financial markets, project management, the rail industry, etc. Knowledge in Business Intelligence (BI) Tools and Cloud Computing Platforms a plus.
