Role Overview
This is a spectacular opportunity to apply Financial Operations (FinOps) skills on a leading edge classified digital technology service (CDS) that enables RTX and warfighter advantage.
As our services move from private cloud into commercial cloud it will be essential that we have a strong FinOps framework and cultural practice which maximizes the business value of cloud, enables timely data-driven decision making, and an optimized cost profile for our end users.
We are seeking someone that is meticulous and proactive in maintaining our financials, ensuring accurate forecasting, and excited to drive a forward-thinking approach to Financial Operations (FinOps). This role requires a blend of strong analytical skills, good relationship management and technical proficiency in managing financial processes.
This role will work with Service Leads, ES Finance, ES Procurement, and other members of the CDS team to better define consumption-based metrics associated with our service offerings. In this capacity the role will support technical team with metrics generation, file transfer from high to low and the development of dashboards. The mission is to build reporting mechanisms that are repeatable and consistent to support chargeback / show-back to CDS customers.
As CDS continues to mature into a dynamic commercial and multi-cloud offering, cost visibility will be needed to analyze cloud spending patterns, identify cost optimization opportunities, create budget strategies and develop organizational policies to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining service quality and performance.
What You Will Do:
Work directly with Enterprise Services (corporate) and multiple Business Unit Finance and Government Accounting teams to support established financial processes and compliance requirementsDevelop budgets and forecasts with the Service Leads in partnership with ES Finance based on historical data, anticipated usage patterns, and business requirements by setting spending targets and ensuring alignment with overall financial goalsOptimize resource allocation to ensure efficient utilization of cloud resources while minimizing waste, by reallocating resources based on changing workload demands or implementing resource tagging and allocation policiesMaintain and evolve a consumption-based cost model to ensure that services align with business objectives, meet customer needs, and drive value for the organizationSupport the allocation of cloud costs to individual projects or users within CDS or the business, including implementing chargeback mechanisms that support cost accountability and transparencyMonitor and analyze cloud service costs incurred by tracking spending patterns, identifying cost drivers, and understanding the factors contributing to cost fluctuationsIdentify opportunities to optimize cloud spending and reduce unnecessary costs by implementing cost-saving strategies such as rightsizing resources, leveraging reserved instances, or using spot instances where applicableLead Strategic Cost Optimization efforts to continually reduce the cost of CDS to business consumersManage and maintain the CDS Financial Workbooks in partnership with Services leads to support roll up of CDS DT financialsPerform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and reportingIdentify and resolve discrepancies in data while maintaining detailed audit trailsCreate budget management processes that support efficient decision-making for budgeting, resource allocation, and cost controlLead the development, execution, and management of annual AOP and LRP processes by collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather inputs, and refine plans with leadershipPartner with business engagement to monitor customer needs, and performance trends related to the service offerings of CDSStay updated on industry trends associated with FinOpsSupport business case development of projects to support leadership in effectively prioritizing development of services that will add the most value to the business including TCO analysis to support a clear view of sustainment costs of servicesQualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Applied Data Science, Economics, or other STEM degree and a minimum 8 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 5 years experience.5+ years of financial principles, budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. Candidate should be able to interpret financial data and make informed decisions to optimize cloud spendingThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer:

Remote: This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
