Fire Alarm Technician Lead
Overview SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician Lead to support base operations services for facilities at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. Essential Job Duties Carry out necessary paperwork in accordance with NFPA 72 2016; NFPA 25; and UFC 3-601-02. Supervise a team of technicians and assign work instructions. Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment. Responsible for work schedule generation for employees, schedule preventive maintenance checks and services, ensure work orders are complete, accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Must be able to randomly inspect work performed as part of the QC process. Perform inventories and property accountability. Inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards. Inspects fire alarm equipment visually and replaces defective components; tests initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter. Able to replace and maintain, pull stations, smoke detectors, heat detectors. Ability to identify parts of Fire Suppression Systems and make required adjustments and or process purchase order. Oversees the Fire Warden program as it pertains to occupied buildings and generate reports to submit to the Soto Cano Fire Dept. on a monthly basis. Able to notify affected departments and personnel before and after inspections and tests. Able to schedule inspection times with client and report back of the same. Makes needed repairs; and checks pressure gauges on suppression system storage containers and recharges or replaces containers. Able to replace and maintain, pull stations, smoke detectors, heat detectors. Can operate Silent Knight Fire Alarm Control Panels, knowledge of Honeywell detection systems and other commercially available detection and suppression systems. Develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reports. Minimum Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Public Trust. A high school diploma or certificate from a vocational program for the trade discipline is preferred. Can work with minimum supervision and take initiative, Employee MUST have a can-do-attitude and motivate team, lead and be a team player. Must have 3 years of experience working in a similar position. Must have successfully completed a journeyman program for the trade discipline(s). Must hold a valid trade licensure in the jurisdiction where work is to be performed (when required by local law). Must have a US Driver’s License. This position requires skills such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, and jumping and other similar physical activities. Lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to endure harsh climate conditions and be able to work in an outdoor setting. Preferred Qualifications Fluency in Spanish is strongly desirable, but not required. MUST have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Fire Alarm Systems Certification (NICET II). Certified Electrician. Working knowledge of NFPA 72 2016; NFPA 25; and UFC 3-601-02. Work Environment Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable or hazardous at times. Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. Requires periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary. Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
