Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the Fire Chief will be responsible to the Det 2 CC (Base Fire ) for the execution of the installation fire protection program and for determining the resources required for the installation’s overall fire protection program. The Installation Fire Chief may not be cross utilized in other positions. Fire Chief is responsible for Fire Station daily operations to ensure personnel are well-trained and capable to perform their duties effectively and on short notice. Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and will continually assess their readiness and performance. Maintains daily awareness of fire inspections, fire services, inspection and testing of fire protection and alarm systems, firefighter training, and fire drills. Completes the requirements in the PWS and IAW DoD regulations. Submits all fire and rescue incident data using Fire Incident Reporting System (FIRS) software, which allows for automatic reporting, posting information on our website. This allows 24/7 Government oversight and assists in controlling and scheduling all fire safety inspections, as well as posting fire detection and alarm system operational status, fire discrepancy reports, and daily manning summaries.

This position is contingent based on contract award.

Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:

+ Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and will continually assess their readiness and performance
+ Maintains daily awareness of fire inspections, fire services, inspection and testing of fire protection and alarm systems, firefighter training, and fire drills
+ Completes the requirements in the PWS and IAW DoD regulations
+ Submits all fire and rescue incident data using Fire Incident Reporting System (FIRS) software
+ The Contractor shall comply with Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Air Force Fire and Emergency Services Training Program (AF EMSTP), and AFI 32-2001 for all recurring certification and training requirements. Trainers shall record all training on AF Form 1085 in FES-IMS
Material & Equipment Directly Used:
+ Operates non-tactical vehicles as required. Operates specialized fire vehicles/equipment
+ Personal computer, laptops, scanners, printers, telephones, data devices, and other office related equipment.
Working Environment:
+ Work will be indoors and outdoors. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs. Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. Task specific work environment training will be provided as required. Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests. 100% Overseas Assignment
Visual Acuity:
+ The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
Physical Activities:
+ Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
+ Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
+ Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
+ Bachelor's degree in related field (i.e. Fire Management, etc.). Must provide a copy of diploma or college transcripts.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance
+ A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Ascension Island Heavy Duty Driver’s License.
Education / Certifications:
+ Preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field (i.e., Fire Management, etc.)
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance
+ A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and AAAF Heavy Duty Driver’s License.
+ Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, and Airport Firefighter
+ Training must be accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Professional Qualification System (NPQS). IFSAC or NPQS
Experience / Skills:
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Fire Chief or a Deputy Fire Chief
+ In-depth knowledge of DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program (DODI 6055.06-M) or industrial/municipal equivalent
Supervisory / Budget Responsibilities:
