Job Title: Fire Control Technician
Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Fire Control Technician, contributing to the development of the Tactical Control System (TCS) for the AN/BYG-1 combat system. This system integrates tactical control, weapons/payload control, information assurance, and tactical network subsystems. Our mission is to deliver the highest quality Submarine Combat System to the US Navy and Royal Australian Navy, supporting their high-stakes national security missions.

ResponsibilitiesConduct subsystem and system of systems testing on blackboxes at various locations.Work in an Agile environment with engineers across the program to verify deliveries to the Navy.Analyze software to ensure it meets system, functional, and performance requirements.Install test bays and troubleshoot anomalies.Communicate and proactively resolve issues with engineers from other subsystems.Essential SkillsUS Navy Submarine Fire Control or SONAR Technician (FT/STS) experience.Strong understanding of test engineering concepts.Experience with subsystem testing, troubleshooting, and software testing.Proficiency in verbal and written communication using Microsoft Office products.Experience with testing in an Agile development environment.Ability to travel as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working proactively with local and remote test team members.Knowledge of requirements management and system modeling.Experience working in the SWFTS submarine community.Effective communication skills with peers and higher-ups.Ability to recognize relevant information and clearly communicate issues and alternatives.Work Environment

This role is 100% onsite with a rare chance of travel to shipyards in locations such as Virginia Beach and Rhode Island. You will be working in a closely-knit team passionate about delivering the best product to the Navy. The Fairfax site serves as the headquarters, with a team of 150 people dedicated to the TCS program, which has funding through 2027.
