The Opportunity

 

We are looking for a Fire Engineer to join our Copenhagen office. As part of a specialist international team of experienced engineers, you will be responsible for the design of various types of projects, taking them from the initial brief through to scheme and detail design, installation, and commissioning support. This is a permanent role offering excellent career development prospects and the opportunity to work on a diverse and challenging range of projects.

 

As a Fire Engineer at Arup, you will:

·       Work as a Project Engineer on all types of fire engineering projects, providing detailed technical input across a broad range of projects.

·       Maintain high-quality work standards in line with Arup’s Quality Management systems.

·       Represent Arup in internal and external meetings, including leading approvals negotiations and acting as a competent communicator.

·       Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, providing fire engineering expertise as needed.

·       Manage project time, quality, and performance, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.

·       Prepare and review project reports for clients, strategically advising on best outcomes.

·       Lead site inspections and assist in preparing fee proposals for a range of project sizes and complexities.

 

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about national and international projects related to fire protection. The ideal candidate will have:

·       A degree in Fire Engineering or a related field.

·       Extensive knowledge of fire engineering, with a commitment to staying current with industry trends and standards.

·       Minimum 3 years of post-qualification design and construction experience.

·       A commitment to mentoring and sharing expertise with colleagues, fostering a collaborative culture.

·       Technical excellence with in-depth knowledge of European fire safety standards (knowledge of Danish standards is a plus).

·       Proficiency in reviewing technical calculations and solutions.

·       Strong communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.

·       Fluency in Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian is highly desirable.

·       Strong project management skills, including budget monitoring and meeting deadlines.
