Fire/Life Safety Systems & Service Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will participate in the service, maintenance, installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art fire alarm and sprinkler equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals. As a Fire/Life Safety Systems & Service Technician, you will:

Assist with the commissioning of new fire and life safety systems on construction ensuring seamless integration Assist with testing and inspecting of existing fire and life safety systems Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader Complete commissioning within planned timelines Submit accurate time and expense logs Work overtime when needed Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements  Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards Work alongside mentors, Lead Technicians, and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively


You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: 

Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) and user PC/software skill; proficient in Microsoft Office Understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship  Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations 

Preferred Qualifications: 

High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred 6+ months experience installing commercial Fire/Life Safety equipment  Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
