The Fire Operations Team Lead will be responsible for enforcing and supporting fire protection standards and processes within Ford, focusing on the operational aspects of compliance, prevention, inspection and testing, service, and maintenance at the site level.
These may include compliance with company policy, applicable local/national codes and/or standards, insurance requirements, and recognized best practices. This position will collaborate with Corporate Fire Protection Engineering, Ford Land, Safety and other internal skill teams. The role will provide the direction and leadership necessary to manage risk based on recognized internal processes, technology, and resources that help ensure business alignment, effective governance, operational efficiency, and performance monitoring. The role is key in supporting a proactive, consultative, and business-aligned culture and approach to Ford Motor Company Global Security & Fire deliverables.
The ideal candidate will be self-starting, motivated and have a broad understanding of fire protection technologies and systems, application and support, and project development. This person will support a team to work as technical subject matter experts (SMEs), providing input and support to Ford facilities throughout the U.S. and Canada, and will advise other Regional Security Managers on fire-related matters.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fire Protection Engineering, Bachelor of Science, Risk Management, or a related field, with five (5) years of fire protection experience. In-depth knowledge and experience of fire protection and prevention principles related to risk management.Excellent knowledge of fire codes and standards. Experience with 3rd party service management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills (soft skills).Demonstrated ability to:Work independently and be self-motivatedMake informed decisions while under time constraintsExhibit a customer-first mindsetAdminister duties and responsibilities with precise attention to detailShow initiative and leadershipProficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Office 365).Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational need dictates, respond to emergencies, and travel domestically, with some international travel, as required.Even better, you may have…

What you'll do…
Assure that all Ford Motor Company sites are following federal, state, and local laws.Facilitate resolution of conflicts arising from the tactical implementation of Ford/Contractor/Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) strategic goals and objectives as they affect fire prevention and protection. Facilitate resolution of non-compliance issues.Provide quality assurance and subject matter expertise for Ford Motor Company related to inspection, testing, and maintenance of fixed and portable fire protection equipment.Identify, prescribe, and implement key fire prevention initiatives through close collaboration with internal skill teams, keeping senior management apprised of progress.Collaborate with site teams to ensure service and maintenance excellence to ensure local support. Assist with project management oversight for fire system installations, acceptance, and integration, when applicable. Assist with the development fire protection standards and the auditing of those standards, complying with all applicable company, local, state, and federal laws. Analyze service and inspection, preparing reports for KPI data.Perform routine fire prevention assessments of Ford facilities to mitigate potential risks and threats. Maintain strong relationships with contractors to ensure rapid response to service calls.Support site Security & Fire, Safety, and Plant Engineering teams to act as the primary point of contact for public agencies responding to and investigating thermal events. Project Management Experience: Participate in the Facility Health Assessment (FHA) process and prioritize projects based upon criticality. Assist Ford facilities will project development, implication, and completion.
