Leidos has an opening for a Fire Protection Engineer in Reston, Virginia. The primary focus of the group is reverse engineering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) related facilities and their infrastructure subsystems. Candidate must bring a creative, yet sound, approach to identifying and solving challenges where all the information desired is inherently unavailable and have exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to thoroughness. The successful candidate will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team of government and contractor personnel. Work will be performed in a fast-paced, high-energy environment within a government facility.
Role and Responsibility:
As part of a characterization team, systematically integrate all-source intelligence, geotechnical data, topographical data, underground expertise, and engineering principles and best practices to describe WMD facility function (mission) and physical configuration, including layout, physical structure, mission systems, support systems, 3D model and corresponding potential vulnerabilitiesProvide engineering guidance and judgment throughout the characterization process to produce accurate intelligence estimatesBrief senior officials regarding capability, trends and analysisRequired Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is requiredCandidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI w/ poly level clearanceBS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domainDegree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related engineering field (e.g. mechanical, etc.) and work-related professional certificationsExperience in lieu of degreeKnowledge of fire protection codes to be able to perform design calculations and conduct engineering assessmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully brief and interact with Senior OfficialsPreferred Qualifications:

Pay Range:Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
