Roles and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel.
Advocate for enhancements in fire safety and reliability for new aircraft engine designs, adhering to technical and program requirements.Partner with Product Line Engineering teams to develop, drive, and support reliability goals and requirements.Promote industry presence and partnerships; this will include influencing and developing technical standards for fire prevention and testing.Represent the Flight Safety Office in appropriate program meetings to ensure compliance to the policies and procedures set in place. Promote a safety culture within the enterprise.Provide support, council, and recommendations to section management.Establish work group goals within framework of section technical and financial objectives.Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer/program needs.Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work groupCommunicate with management on technical, organizational, resource and personnel issues.Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel.Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning.Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling.Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within work group.This role will have direct reportsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or high school diploma/GED with 6 years' experience in systems engineering).At least 5 additional years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environmentLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
