What to expect as a Commercial Fire Service Technician:

The Fire Service Technician will be responsible for service, repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections of security and fire systems.

Travel to commercial client sites to service, repair, troubleshoot, and detect fire, access control equipment, and IP based video security systems.Systems include, electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems and intercom systemsTroubleshoot system installations in such a manner as to identify issues and to apply the most effective and efficient resolution consistent with company installation standards; identify and repair physical security systems as required to ensure operability and compliance with any applicable building codeApply all necessary documentation for tracking of service-related issuesDemonstrate knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools, analog/digital test equipment and CCTV testing devicesDemonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, CAD drawings and related documents for their use in low voltage applicationsEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customersProvide phone and on-line remote diagnostic support Perform other duties as assigned by Service and Operations team

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

High School Degree, Vocational School or equivalent requiredMinimum of two (2) or more years of field experienceFAST licence Current driver’s license if driving a company vehicle, or personal vehicle in the course of conducting business (e.g., client visits, attending networking events)Possession of state specific licensing (i.e. Class D or Alarm Installer etc.) or ability to hold license once hiredUnderstanding of Windows operating systems and overall IT network topologyGood communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customersAvailable for scheduled “on-call” duties to respond to emergency service callsStrong troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electronics aptitude

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

Experience with Bosch, DMP, or HoneywellExperience with any of the following: Software House, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Brivo, Milestone, Exacq, Axis, Commend, Open Options, Notifier, Fluidmesh or ONSSIBasic knowledge of access control and video systems is a plus
