Fire Suppression Technician

Our work spans from safeguarding and maintaining critical infrastructure to helping communities recover from natural disasters, from empowering our armed forces and first responders to reducing carbon and energy use, and from making cities more resilient against the threats of climate change to restoring contaminated ecological systems. **Job Overview:** APTIM is currently seeking a Fire Suppression Technician experienced in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of various Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) fire suppression systems to support our anticipated backlog of project work at Department of Defense (DOD) facilities nationwide. In addition to possessing the requisite qualifications and experience as summarized below, strong interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives, regulators, and APTIM colleagues alike. Frequent and extended travel to project locations to support field activities will be required. **What you can expect from APTIM:** + Work that is worthy of your time and talent + Respect and flexibility to live a full life at work and at home. + Dogged determination to deliver for our clients and communities. + A voice in making our company better. + Investment into your personal and professional development **Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:** + Installs, maintains, repairs, or replaces fire suppression equipment and systems in strict accordance with applicable codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. + Service and inspections of both wet pipe and deluge foam fire suppression systems. + Conduct demolition or drain and refill of foam fire suppression systems. + Work collaboratively in a team environment, provide input on technical, project, and safety issues. + Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed. + Complete accurate and timely maintenance and work records. + Adherence to established schedule and budgets for the performance of field and report prep activities. + Possess a "Safety First" work ethic. **Basic Qualifications:** + Demonstrated experience on multiple fire suppression systems including Dry Systems, Wet Systems, Deluge, and Pre-Action. + Minimum 1 year experience in Fire Sprinkler Inspections; Documented experience of at least 3 foam fire suppression system installations or repair. + U.S. Citizenship with ability to pass a background check for access to DOD Facilities. + Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record required. + 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus but not a requirement. + Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); lifting, climbing, and physical work will be required. + Must be able to work in the field in all types of field conditions/weather. + Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, to meet project deadlines. + Ability to travel for field assignments. **Who we are and what we do:** APTIM is a global industry leader headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
