Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will perform all day-to-day emergency and non-emergency tasks, duties and responsibilities as required. You will perform engine company inspections, and building pre-plans, looking for infractions and the locations of local alarm and sprinkler systems, power, water, and gas shutoffs, noting all hazardous storage or conditions inside and outside. You will perform station, grounds, apparatus, and equipment maintenance. You may be required to perform the duties of relief Engineer, which includes driving and operating the structural and crash/rescue vehicles and aerial apparatus. You will participate in public education activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing firefighting duties in structural, aircraft, wildland, emergency medical, hazardous materials, urban search and rescue, emergency services communications, and fire prevention activities. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
