ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: 25-11-MN POSITION TITLE: Firefighter Driver-Operator – OF&ES AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Open to current enlisted members of the Idaho National Guard (Military membership is a condition of employment) PAY GRADE/RANGE: NGA-5F trainee grade ($18.23 to $23.70 hourly / $50,201 to $65,258 annually) NGA-6F full grade ($20.32 to $26.41 hourly / $55,960 to $72,737 annually) TYPE OF POSITION: Military non-classified SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the Idaho Training Center – Orchard Range (ITC-OR), Orchard Fire and Emergency Services (OF&ES), Idaho Army National Guard (IDARNG), functioning within the State of Idaho – Military Division. The position is located at the ITC-OR Fire Station. The Training Site is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Maneuver Training Center (Heavy). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Firefighter/Driver-Operator, assisting with the execution of the fire protection and prevention programs for the IDARNG facilities serviced in the OCTC. Exercises full responsibility for driving and operating all assigned fire apparatus. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Firefighter assigned to a crew engaged in structural firefighting and wildland firefighting, to drive and operate firefighting vehicles of significant complexity, and to respond to the presence or potential releases of hazardous materials. (9) Must have, or be willing to obtain, and maintain all required Wildland Coordinating Group (NWCG) Firefighter Type 2 courses and FEMA certifications identified by the Fire Chief. (10) Must have, or be willing to obtain, and maintain Red Card certification. (11) Must participate in a mandatory physical fitness program.Compliance to the physical fitness program is determined by the Fire Chief. (12) Must agree to submit to periodic and random drug testing as directed by the Fire Chief or proper authority. (3) Knowledge of hazardous materials emergency response procedures, equipment, identification, and mitigation actions. (4) Knowledge of, and ability to apply, emergency first aid techniques; knowledge of safety requirements as outlined in applicable safety standards, regulations, and/or technical orders.
