Firewall Security Engineer
Description We are in search of a Firewall Security Engineer to join our team in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The role involves overseeing network security engineering, configuration, and maintenance. You will manage key network security relationships and be responsible for the performance optimization of our firewall configurations. Responsibilities • Oversee and manage the engineering, configuration, and maintenance of network security equipment • Manage relationships with managed firewall vendors and other key network security stakeholders • Proactively review and analyze existing firewall configurations for potential areas of improvement and performance optimization • Define, review, and advise on operational requirements for our managed firewall operations group • Lead in the design, delivery, and operationalizing of processes for firewall and network security platforms • Identify key areas of improvement on existing network and firewall configurations and services • Lead and manage the transition of emerging firewall and network security solutions from projects to operations • Drive process improvement for existing solutions by working closely with internal teams and vendors • Implement projects and technology upgrades, including evaluations and recommendations for security and control configurations • Provide technical domain guidance and expertise to stakeholders and business units regarding firewall services Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in Firewall Security Engineering or a related field • Must have strong Enterprise Palo Alto Firewall experience • Proficiency in using Checkpoint and Check Point is required • Experience working with Cisco ASA and Cisco ASA Firewall is a must • Demonstrated ability to work with Cisco Routers • Knowledge of Authentication techniques is necessary • Must have hands-on experience with Checkpoint Firewall • Proficiency in Computer Hardware is necessary • Configuration Management skills are required • Experience with Fortinet Firewalls is a must • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred • Relevant certifications in firewall security and network security will be a plus.
