Job Title: Firmware Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team in Eagan, Minnesota. In this role, you will code, support architectures, document designs, and create Proof of Concepts to develop applications for our dispensing and IoT equipment systems. You will collaborate with team members to integrate software and hardware developed by other divisions and work on full stack IoT end node solutions. This position follows a full-time schedule during standard business hours.

ResponsibilitiesCode, support architectures, document designs, and create Proof of Concepts for application development.Collaborate with team members to integrate software and hardware from other divisions.Work with software team members to integrate full stack IoT end node solutions.Participate in SCRUM/Agile software development processes.Work with product owners to define and document User Stories, including Acceptance Criteria.Apply DevOps practices to efficiently work with multidisciplinary teams.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.5+ years of experience in C or C++ for embedded firmware development.Experience in ARM-based board/application development.Experience with embedded RTOS and bare-metal development.Familiarity with serial communication protocols, such as UART, SPI, and I2C.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with ARM-based microcontrollers, such as ST Micro, NXP, or Silicon Labs EFM.Experience with Modbus RTU/TCP or CANBus.Experience in supporting Embedded Firmware Platform, Board Support Package development.Knowledge in two or more of the following areas: bootstrap loader, embedded file systems, system controls, embedded Linux.Experience with Agile development methodologies.Experience with board layout and design.Scripting skills in Python or Bash for testing.Work Environment

This position is based in Eagan, Minnesota, working full-time during standard business hours. The work environment is engineering-focused, requiring collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The role involves integrating software and hardware solutions and participating in an Agile development process. Dress code is business casual.
