Job Title: Firmware EngineerJob Description As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of embedded solutions. You will collaborate within an Agile firmware development team using scrum processes and drive firmware quality through early defect discovery and removal. This position involves analyzing acceptance criteria and providing estimates of effort. Essential Skills + 3+ years of experience in firmware and embedded software development. + Proven proficiency in translating business requirements into data models. + Experience in C++ development. + Experience with Embedded Linux (Yocto is a must-have). Additional Skills & Qualifications + UI experience with React.js and Node.js frameworks is a big plus. + Experience with TCP/IP and networking fundamentals. + Experience with Embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto. + Ability to produce technical design documentation for assigned features and user stories. + Experience with Agile Development using Jira and the Atlassian Suite. + Experience with basic scripting languages: Shell, Bash, Python. + Ability to read hardware schematics. + Comfortable working with hardware, debugging, and familiarity with tools including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. + Understanding of protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, MODBUS, USB, Ethernet, etc.). + Ability to code low-level hardware interfaces. + Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline is strongly preferred, but applicable experience is also considered. Work Environment This is a contract position requiring a minimum of four days on-site with Fridays as a flex day. The work environment includes a large campus with hundreds of people on site and in-house manufacturing. Daily activities include a 9 am scrum meeting to discuss task progress, engagement, and troubleshooting with teams, followed by development, writing code, building, deploying, troubleshooting, and debugging. The work environment is like a college senior design project on steroids, with nearly everything done in-house and close-knit collaborative teams.
