Firmware Engineering Manager

They are seeking a Firmware Engineering Manager to lead the firmware development team and help shape the future of their products.

Position Overview:
The Firmware Engineering Manager will oversee the development and implementation of firmware for their medical devices. This role involves managing a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of firmware engineers in the design, development, testing, and validation of firmware for medical devices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and compliance with medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA guidelines). Define firmware development processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in firmware development processes and tools. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in firmware development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within the medical device industry. Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS). In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to medical devices and experience in their implementation. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
